The Income Index map provides information on a region’s level of prosperity and can highlight inequality in income growth. Erratic growth, no-growth, or long-term decline in this indicator is generally an indication of a struggling economy. The benchmarks above indicate median household income.

What this data means:
Population growth is generally an indication of a healthy and prosperous economy. It can indicate that a region is desirable and is attracting people to live there. Increased population also provides economic opportunities for new and existing businesses. However, growth is not a panacea, and can bring with it additional concerns and strain existing resources. Erratic growth, no-growth, or long-term decline in population is generally an indication of a struggling economy. Population should be tracked over time and compared against similar regions.

Occupancy And Vacancy

Occupancy and vacancy status are indicators of the housing market and provide information on the stability and quality of housing for certain areas. The data is used to assess the demand for housing, to identify housing turnover within areas, and to better understand the population within the housing market over time. These data also serve to aid in the development of housing programs to meet the needs of persons and different economic levels.
